An Italian 19th Century Renaissance St. Walnut And Burl Walnut Credenza
A monumentally scaled and most impressive Italian 19th century Renaissance st. walnut and burl walnut credenza. The four door buffet is raised by a straight base with a finely carved foliate band and most decorative wrap around laurel band. At the center are two pairs of doors. Each door displays beautiful intricately detailed carved scrolled foliate designs with lovely floral accents, central family crests, a handsome lion’s head and a maiden’s face. The two pairs are separated by striking architectural columns with handsome urns with Bacchic god masks and exceptionally detailed scrolled acanthus leaves seemingly growing upwards with charming lizards and impressive ionic capitals. Above Entrelacs et les Rosaces and gadroon designed bands is the solid burl walnut top showcasing the warm walnut grain. All original rich and warm patina throughout.
